General Parcel Booking Terms
Here are some terms and conditions for General Parcel Booking:
All consignments are carried on an “as-is” and “said to contain” basis, and they are accepted at the risk of the consignor.
VRL is not responsible for loss or damage resulting from natural disasters, theft, riots, or other beyond its control events.
In the case of Government Detentions, shipments should be held by officials because of erroneous declarations or missing paperwork, the recipient or sender must shoulder the repercussions and any costs.
Some items like glassware or electronics are carried at the risk of the consignor.
Standard delivery is to the VRL godown; door delivery entails an extra charge and is tried only once.
Goods not picked up within seven days may be subject to storage charges and after thirty days they may be transferred to VRL’s unclaimed property division.
In addition, no complaints will be accepted following either 30 days from the booking or 7 days from delivery whichever comes first.
All legal issues come under Hubballi (Karnataka) jurisdiction.
Courier Service Terms

Every courier reservation is non-negotiable and done at the consignor’s risk and non-transferable.
High value items are not advised for shipping because the maximum liability is ₹100 per item.
Money, jewellery, chemicals, explosives, or contraband goods are not allowed.
Generally, claims will not be entertained 15 days following the booking date.
VRL is not liable for indirect or consequential damage.

Documents: ₹20 for up to 250 grams; ₹15 for every additional 250 grams.
Parcels (e.g., electronics, medicinal equipment): ₹40 per kg; local parcels at ₹20 per kg.

South India:
Documents: ₹50 for 250 grams; ₹20 for every additional 250 grams.
Parcels: ₹40 per kg.
North India:
Documents: ₹55 for 250 grams; ₹25 for every additional 250 grams.
Parcels: ₹69 per kg.
International Destinations
Colombo: ₹350 for 500 grams; ₹190 for each additional 500 grams.
Dhaka: ₹390 for 500 grams; ₹120 for each additional 500 grams.
Dubai: ₹290 for 500 grams; ₹100 for each additional 500 grams.
Kathmandu: ₹210 for 500 grams; ₹100 for each additional 500 grams.
Singapore: ₹390 for 500 grams; ₹100 for each additional 500 grams.
Air Cargo Shipping Terms

All air cargo is assumed to be packaged at the owner’s risk.
Some issues like missing invoices, permits, or wrong declarations could cause detentions that will be managed at the expense of the consignor/consignee.
VRL has reweighing rights at the destination, so they can reassess and recalculate freight.
Claims are allowed within 3 days of delivery or 90 days of booking.
Charges for demurrage apply three days following arrival at the destination.
Insurance responsibility has to be set up either by consignee or consignor.
Loading or unloading will not be covered in freight, it will be managed by the sender or recipient.
Customers must bear taxes/detention fees and freight depending on vehicle capacity.
If the vehicle is unable to reach the precise delivery location, the consignee has to organise a pickup.
VRL is not responsible for delays in governmental actions, strikes, or natural events.
Based on the booking category like Paid, To-Pay, or Account, clear payment terms will be applied.
FTL Service Charges
Rates: Determined based on distance, vehicle type, and load.
Minimum Weight Consideration: 40 kg.
Detention Charges: Applicable if vehicles are held beyond the stipulated time.
Additional Charges
Godown Charges: ₹30 per quintal or ₹30 per bulky carton per day if not collected within seven days of arrival.
Payment Options
Paid: Charges paid by the consignor at the time of booking.
To Pay: Charges paid by the consignee at the time of delivery.
Account Basis: For regular customers with credit arrangements.
